RULES

<Sands> is a lore-adhering RP community. Due to the dark/criminal themes that occur within our roleplay, we only accept members age 18 and older.

GENERAL RULES

OUT OF CHARACTER

  1. We have zero tolerance for slurs and any discrimination, period, including racial discrimination and/or discrimination based on gender and sexuality. We strive to have a welcoming community and there is no place for racism, homophobia, or transphobia here.

  2. Maturity and mutual respect are a must between members. We do not tolerate bullying or harassment.

  3. Both you and your character must be 18 years of age or older.

  4. We have an opt-in NSFW channel in our Discord server, but we do not allow the sharing of personal nudes, underage content, or NSFW content involving Lalafell. We abide by Discord’s terms of service alongside our own regulations, and all content is subject to removal by the mod team.

  5. We respect people taking breaks from FFXIV–life happens–but please communicate with the mod team. If you are undergoing difficulties of any sort and expect you will be taking a long break, we understand. However, after 90 days of inactivity without any communication, we will remove you from the in-game FC. You are always welcome to reapply at a later date if you are removed due to inactivity.

IN CHARACTER

  1. This is a lore strict FC. We abide as closely to the lore available within the world of Final Fantasy 14 as possible. We don’t invent lore, and we don’t consider the lore of other Final Fantasy games.

  2. We do not allow: fetish characters, voidsents, primals, canon NPCs, OCs with close relationships to canon NPCs, overpowered OCs, Warriors of Light, and OCs with tainted/corrupted/elemental aspected aether.

  3. We don’t allow god modding. Always communicate with your writing partners–never write someone’s character for them or force an action on them without consent.

  4. No metagaming. Do not use information you know OOC to determine your character’s actions.

  5. Perfect grammar isn’t expected, but we uphold a basic writing standard within the FC. Please use proper grammar, and be aware that most within the FC are multi-paragraph writers.

  6. We are not ERP focused. Please keep ERP to private areas.

  7. Retcons and fantasias are not allowed. New characters are always welcome, but you will need to submit an application for every new OC. Please be aware that multiple rerolls of the same character will need to be discussed with the mod team.

Nestled in the sun-warmed stone of the Goblet, an exclusive jazz club beckons in patrons with delectable food, luxurious spirits, and, above all else -- privacy.With performances nightly from the live band and occasional guest entertainers, as well as the best chefs and bartenders gil can buy, the Gilded Clover is the perfect clandestine meeting place for the underground crime network of Ul'dah.All Clover staff members receive a burgundy enamel pin in the shape of a clover they're expected to wear somewhere visible while they are in the club.

ADMINISTRATIVE

The Gilded Clover is always on the hunt for front of house staff.Club employees are paid extra for their ability to keep quiet about what they might see or hear during their shifts. What happens in the Clover, stays in the Clover.

  • Bartenders: Experience in preparing and serving cocktails and spirits. Suit and tie uniform.

  • Waitstaff: Hospitable and quick servers with good patience and cool demeanors even during a rush.

  • Hosts: The hosts are in charge of keeping guests happy, and thus need good social skills and some natural charm.

  • Kitchen Staff: Chefs, dishwashers, popoto peelers. There's never too many cooks in the kitchen.

  • Security: Sometimes customers get rowdy and workers need help removing them with force if kindness doesn't do it first.

  • Entertainers: Musicians, dancers, jugglers, palm readers? If you know how to keep the crowd entertained, inquire within.

To keep the front of the club running, the Clover also needs employees behind the scenes.From bookkeepers to messengers and everything in between, if you're skilled with pen and paper, you can certainly find a place in the family.

  • Accountants: Folks good in math and handling payroll.

  • Couriers: Delivery folk. Letters and packages, in and out of house.

  • Custodials: Things need to be kept clean, at all times!

  • Smiths & Repairmen: Helping hands to aid in fixing and making needed parts to keep the show going.

  • Goldsmiths: For specific small repairs, and creating new pieces for the Clover's purposes.

  • Tailors & Seamstresses: Between uniforms for club staff and personal commissions, those skilled with fabric are always needed.

VENUE RENTALS

VIP SERVICES

Customers on the Clover's guest list can rent private rooms or the whole club for private use such as parties and business deals. For more information, speak to a host.

  • Private rooms: Lounges, private bars, baths, gambling rooms. 30,000 gil per bell.

  • Staff rental: Needs at least one rented room. Personal bartender, dancers, musicians, servers. 14,000 gil per bell.

  • Whole club rental: Get the whole shebang. Includes staff, meals, drinks. 700,000 gil per night.

Private customers can purchase VIP memberships with a fee each moon. Don't miss out on the benefits!

  • Copper: Waived entry fees. Comes with a copper clover pin. 20,000 gil/moon

  • Bronze: Includes the above, and unlimited free drinks. Comes with a bronze clover pin. 35,000 gil/moon

  • Silver: Includes the above, plus one free meal every sennight. Comes with a silver clover pin. 60,000 gil/moon

  • Gold: Includes the above, as well as free "candy samples", free pass through queues, and priority with table and rental reservations. Comes with a gold clover pin. 150,000 gil/moon

We do not expect nor take OOC gil transactions during roleplay scenes, as the prices are purely cosmetic.The prices reflect the prices of a high-end club.Gil is based on the Japanese yen, not the US dollar, so the exchange rate should be about 100 gil = $1 if that helps to calculate and understand the value of the goods mentioned.

THE CARTEL

The Sleeping Sands cartel is headed by Rhiannon Wynter, a Hyur with a vision for making the company as lucrative an endeavor as it can be.To keep things running as good as they have been, she's always actively looking to hire skilled people who can get the job done with no questions asked.All cartel members receive a purple enamel pin in the shape of a clover they're expected to wear somewhere visible while they are in the club.

HIRING

ADMINISTRATIVE

Paperwork is unavoidable. At the heart of every organization is a collective of people pushing pencils to keep everything else running.

  • Accountants: People who know how to twist the numbers to make the books look legit and to keep gil flowing through the many branches of the cartel.

  • Forgers: Sands is always in need of people who know how to forge important city-state paperwork such as IDs, permits, signatures, passports, and sometimes even counterweight items.

  • Assistants: Every leader needs a helping hand. Job descriptions may vary depending on the leader's needs.

MEDICAL

Sands boasts a comprehensive medical wing for the benefit of all employees, and staff is always needed to tend to injuries and illnesses. Dangerous jobs also require a member of the medical team in case of emergencies.

  • Doctors Traditional, non-magical healers that work with the latest of medical science across the star.

  • Chirurgeons Accidents happen. In the event of larger injuries, it’s always good to have a chirurgeon on hand.

  • Magical Healers Magical healers are rare and always coveted. Conjurers are the most common, but other more unconventional ones are always welcome. Magical healers are always the most requested for offsite jobs.

PRODUCTION

Producing somnus is a long, complex process, and dozens of hands are involved before it ever makes its way to customers.

  • Somnus farmers: Sands' somnus fields are hidden in the wild woods of the Black Shroud. There is always use for more hands in growing and harvesting the plants.

  • Refiners: Those with alchemical backgrounds will always find work within Sands, most commonly within the refinement pipeline.

  • Product innovators: Rich people will always want more, and ideas are always welcome. Sands endeavors to provide a luxury experience, and already offers a variety of alternative ways to get a fix.

MUSCLE

Every cartel needs muscle to throw their weight around, send threats, and establish dominance to keep their turf.

  • Fighters Scrappers, swordsmen, archers, mages; anyone who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty with a weapon of their choice and doesn’t ask too many questions.

  • Bodyguards Some of the higher ups need near constant protection, especially during negotiations outside the Sands turf. This needs a person who will throw themselves between the blade and their client.

  • Debt collectors Folks who know not to fall for crocodile tears and keep on top of numbers and collections. They must be trustful enough not to pocket them, and should be unafraid of using scare tactics to keep the gil flowing.

  • Enforcers Debt collectors sometimes need extra help to remind the client why they should be paying up. Usually some chopped fingers and broken kneecaps refresh their memory.

DISTRIBUTION

Sands pays well to those who can move products discreetly. From the shadowy forests of the Shroud, the somnus grown in private fields must be brought into headquarters for production, then sent out to dealers. Those working in distribution are an important part of the process.

  • Smugglers: Those who either own carts, ships, airships or other vehicles, or know how to operate them well, and know how to hide product in their other merchandise or false clutter.

  • Runners: People who distribute the refined product within Ul'dah to street dealers, or different establishments where the dealers are waiting to deal.

  • Dealers: Individuals who sell the refined product to potential clients. This includes either dealing in the streets, or in prominent clubs and taverns where it can be safe and discreet. Sometimes they are expected to make house calls with certain high-class individuals who like to buy in bulk.

  • BENEFITS INCLUDE: Free healthcare, free drinks, one free meal a day during shift work, pay good enough to afford monthly rent at the Sultana's Breath. Dangerous jobs come with bonuses. Distributors also get free fake identification papers, and other frauded paperwork and accounting details from administration to make their work run smoother.
